Coraline Review
Henry Selick's intriguingly creepy story, Coraline, is based on an awkward little girl who moves into a house in Pink Palace. Located in Ashland, Oregon, Coraline's new home is wet, dark and cold. Her parents, voiced by Teri Hatcher and John Hogma, attempt to persuade her to discover new things around their home. While walking around outside, Coraline comes across a little boy named Wybie. Not originally a part of the book, Wybie is placed in this movie to give Coraline somebody to talk to and help develop the plot. He is an interesting and weird boy that comes to stalk Coraline because he feels drawn to her. After Coraline is done exploring outside, she begins looking around and finds a strange door in the wall. Upon opening it for the first time, she finds nothing, but later the door glows and Coraline crawls through it to find her self in an alternate universe. In this different world, Coraline finds an almost perfect paradigm of what she wants in her life. Her "other" parents are fun, outgoing, talented and give her anything she wants. One weird thing about this world is that everybody has buttons for eyes. Throughout the movie, Coraline goes back to this world and every time she goes back it gets more and more different. Coraline begins to like this world more than the world that she is from. Then, the "other" mother prevents Coraline from returning to the real world so can reunite with her real family. Her nihilistic "other" mother is convinced that Coraline belongs in the the new world. She is slowly turning into a scary looking machine that is trying to control Coraline in every way possible. Even though the story is a little freaky and crazy, I believe that this could very well be considered a child's movie as well as a young teens' movie. I person enjoyed the dark and thrilling parts of the movie and found it enjoyable.

The review flows pretty well and covers most of the movie. A little more background info on the movie could have been used. Also there wasnt really any info on stop motion films. The pictures give a good visual while reading though. I would want to watch the movie after i read the review if I hadnt already watched it.

Your article needs to be longer and organized into paragraphs. Your background information needs more. Good links and clear pictures just need one more. Your summary of the movie is clear. Good opinion just need more.

This review had good background on the film. I understood what went on during the movie and didn't feel like it gave it away. I would have loved to know how they made the film with some deeper information. The flow was good, there was some mistake but very few. There was also only 2 photos and i would have liked to see 3.

It seems to be missing a lot of the background. Your plot summary jumped around a little bit but all in all that went well and was mostly clear. You did not have any of the actors that voiced Coraline. You only included two pictures. And there were no links included. I like that you included the background for Wybie. Also your opinion was nicely stated. ALittle on the short side.
